2010 Dunn School Baseball Overview
The baseball program at Dunn School is rich with tradition and has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success over the past eight years, compiling an 82-56 record and qualifying for CIF playoffs every year. The team has worked extremely hard to establish itself as a competitor in the Condor League and among the top teams in Division VII baseball.
A broad range of players participate on the team. Past Dunn players have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Neil Muller, a 2004 Dunn School graduate and the assistant coach, played outfield for four years at the University of Redlands (Division III). Other players who might not have swung a bat in several years, take their skills to new levels and contribute to team goals.
In addition to excellence “between the lines,” the coaching staff promotes excellence off the field. From pursuing academic goals in the classroom to building character, integrity, confidence, and leadership, the goal is for each player to develop into a well-rounded young adult that is ready for future life challenges. This comes through setting high goals and accomplishing them through hard work.
In his ninth season as the Dunn School head baseball coach, coach Aaron Dorlarque brings a wealth of knowledge and a lot of enthusiasm and intensity to the field. His playing experience includes pitching for five years with the Kansas City Royals and the Montreal Expos and playing four years at Stanford University ’92.

2010 Dunn School Baseball Results
May 20--The Earwigs played the sixth-ranked Jaguars of New Roads School on Thursday afternoon at West LA College in the first round of the CIF-SS Division VII playoffs. Earwig pitcher Keegan Mitchell matched the New Roads starter pitch for pitch, yielding only three hits, three walks and no earned runs while striking out six batters on the day. However, Dunn's defense was not able to play consistent defense behind Mitchell and the Earwigs ended up dropping the contest 0-7 and finished the season with a record of 7-8. At the plate, Dunn managed two singles (Joe Eisaguirre and Corbin Meyer) and one walk, but was not able to plate a run against a very disciplined defense. The baseball team would like to thank everyone for their support and would like to congratulate seniors Keegan Mitchell and Ben Fisher and wish them good luck next year at Seattle University and California Lutheran University.
May 14--The baseball team hosted top-ranked Cornerstone Christian and last year's CIF-SS champion on Friday afternoon in the last game of the regular season. The team found little success against Cornerstone's pitching, managing two hits on the afternoon in the 1-14 loss. Connor McMorrow did hit the first pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning for a solo homerun to center field. It was Connor's third homerun and the team's eighteenth on the season. Keegan Mitchell, Corbin Meyer and Joe Eisaguirre held the Cornerstone offense to three runs on three hits after Earwig pitching yielded 11 runs in the first inning. The Earwigs finished the regular season 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the Condor League. After losing a coin toss to Cate, the Earwigs will represent the Condor League as the #3 seed going into playoffs. Playoff pairings and game details will be made available on Monday, May 17th at noon through the CIF-SS website and we will post them on the Dunn School website.
May 11--The Earwigs pounded out 11 hits on Tuesday afternoon against league rival Cate School, but dropped the Condor League contest 13-16. May 5--The baseball team traveled to Ojai to take on Condor League leading Thacher School on Wednesday afternoon. Fisher and Joe Eisaguirre each had triples and Cody Boal and Jay Gould each added two hits apiece on the afternoon. On the mound, Eisaguirre, Meyer and Mitchell combined to throw a one-hitter. The Earwigs now go on Spring Break and do not return to action until April 14th at 3pm against Besant Hill in Ojai.

After each team plated three runs in the first inning, both pitchers settled down for the next four innings. Earwig pitcher Keegan Mitchell made his first career start and hurled five strong innings, leaving the game with a 5-4 lead going into the sixth inning. With the rain increasing each inning, the umpires and coaching staff agreed to end the game after six innings. With conditions extremely wet, the Earwigs were not able to throw strikes in the bottom half of the final inning, which led to two Crusader runs and a final score of 5-6. Joe Eisaguirre and Cody Boal each contributed two hits and Ben Fisher scored three runs. The Earwigs next play Maricopa on Wednesday at home.
March 10--The Earwig baseball team opened its season on Wednesday afternoon against North County Christian of Atascadero. On the mound, Eisaguirre pitched the first three innings, giving up four runs (none earned) on one hit and four walks, while striking out six. However, early season jitters got to the Earwig relief pitchers in the fourth inning and the Crusaders capitalized on multiple walks, two hits-batsmen and an error in the fourth inning to score 10 runs. The Earwigs mounted a two-run rally in the fifth inning, but fell short, 12-14, in the five-inning contest that was shortened due to darkness.
