DMS Boys Volleyball

2011-12 BOYS VOLLEYBALL
The DMS Boys Volleyball teams are being coached by Sandy Jankowski-Rose, with help from Merrill Riley and Nicole Goyette.  There are seven teams competing in the Santa Ynez Valley Middle School League, and 4 of those schools, including DMS, are fielding both an A and a B team.
The A Team will play 10 games during the regular season while the B Team will play six.  An A Team tournament will follow the regular season.  The dates for the tournament have not been determined, but the season schedule is posted.

Game 1 vs. Los Olivos - First game of the season and the first time our team had a chance to work together. With only 3 days for practice before the game, our boys showed real promise and hustle on the court. They lost to Los Olivos in 2 games, but are looking forward to next week's game on Thursday vs. Charter.

Game 2 vs. Charter - The boys showed marked improvement since their last game. The B team won their match with great effort on the part of all the boys. And the A team also won their match in 2 straight games. Great serving sealed the win.

Game 3 vs.Jonata - The boys came out strong for this game. Both A and B teams won their matches.

Game 4 vs. Solvang - Great volleyball was played by all. The B team has really come together and with some strong serving and defense they won their match. the A team also had a very great match. The boys are really hustling on the court and serving is playing a key role in their success. Congratulations A team on another win.

Game 5 vs.Santa Ynez - Only the A team played on Tuesday. A team won.

Game 6 vs. SYV Chrisitan Academy - Only the A team played again. The boys took a little time to get warmed up. Being on a bit of a break this week with internships and conferences, the boys have not had much practice time together. The played hard, but were up against a few strong players on the Christian Academy team. The boys came up short and lost in two games.
