Course Description: AP U.S. Government and Politics

This course is designed to give students college-level preparation in U.S. government and politics, while preparing them for the AP Government Exam in May 2009. The AP U.S. Government course will give students an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States. This course will include both the study of general concepts used to interpret U.S. government and politics and the analysis of specific examples. Students will become familiar with the various institutions, groups, beliefs, and ideas that constitute U.S. government and politics.

 

Grades    B+ or higher in U.S. History

   B or higher in AP U.S. History

Recommendation:  Have the recommendation of your current history teacher
