Course Description: Advanced Mathematics
This course is broken into two parts. In the first part of the course students will be reviewing important concepts that will help them review for the SAT. All of the concepts on the exam will be covered. This portion of the class will start on the first day of class, and end the first week in November. The second portion of the class investigates the fundamental concepts and principles of statistics. Students will explore data by observing patterns and departures from patterns. They will learn how to plan a study while deciding what and how to measure. They will learn how to produce models using probability theory and simulations and finally confirm models by using statistical inference.
Grades: Junior - C or better in Algebra 2
Sophomore - B or better in Math 2 Honors and English 10
