Course Description: Environmental Science

The purpose of this course is to prepare students to make educated choices with respect to their personal lifestyles and decisions regarding environmental policies. The study of Environmental Science requires students to integrate concepts of every scientific discipline, in addition to other disciplines such as economics, history, and English. We will focus on the development of creative problem solving techniques, judgmental thought, developing arguments to support a viewpoint, and the concept of personal power/responsibility and the tragedy of the commons. Although lectures and readings are important, this interactive course is primarily taught through project work, labs, and class discussions.

Pre-Requisite: Passing grade in Chemistry and Biology (or concurrent enrollment in Biology/ AP Biology)
