Course Description: Spanish 2 Honors
The goal of Spanish 2 Honors is to present all verb tenses and basic grammar constructions, develop vocabulary, increase oral fluency and reading ability. The course is based on TPRS (Teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling) methodology. The workbook will be used in conjunction with the text. Supplemental material will be introduced throughout the year. Conversational skills will focus on daily activities, current events, sports, entertainment, family life, etc. Writing skills will focus on textbook material, short answer questions, and in-class responses. Students will be required to complete regular writing assignments throughout the year including a research paper on a Spanish-speaking artist.
Course Goal: Students should finish the year with a level of competency in all four language skills (listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing). All areas of Spanish syntax will be reinforced and expanded with special emphasis on verb tenses and the subjunctive mood.
